Input and Output:
- Input: Presence or absence of a magnetic field.
- Output: Open or closed circuit depending on the position of the magnet relative to the sensor.
Physical Characteristics:
- Sensor Size: Approx. 28mm x 14mm x 6mm
- Magnet Size: Approx. 28mm x 14mm x 6mm
- Housing: Plastic casing for both the sensor and magnet
- Color: Typically white or brown to blend with typical door/window frames
Technical Specifications:
- Contact Resistance: 0.1 Ohms max (when closed)
- Insulation Resistance: 10^7 Ohms min (when open)
- Operating Temperature: -20°C to +70°C
Additional Features:
- Durable design suitable for home security applications.
- Can be used with various alarm systems, microcontrollers, or automation setups.
How to Use:
- Mount the reed switch on the stationary part of the door or window frame.
- Mount the magnet on the moving part (door or window) such that it aligns with the reed switch when closed.
- Connect the two sensor leads to the input of your monitoring system, microcontroller, or alarm circuit.
- When the door/window is closed, the magnet will cause the reed switch to close, completing the circuit.
- When the door/window opens, the magnet moves away, causing the switch to open and break the circuit, triggering an alert or action in your system.
This magnetic sensor is ideal for basic security applications, offering a straightforward way to monitor the open/closed status of doors and windows in residential or commercial settings.
